Securing your WordPress website means hiding one of the most prominent points of entry for hackers: the login page. Enforcing strong passwords is a great start to prevent attacks, but it does not relieve login page overload. That’s why one of our favorite features of Stop Spammers Premium is the ability to hide your WordPress login from attackers and bots alike. There are several components to the feature that make it stand out.
Hide WP Login
First, you can enable the themed registration and login pages in the Stop Spammers Premium Features settings page. By turning on this feature, Stop Spammers Premium intercepts page requests to WP-login and sends visitors to your 404 Not Found page.
Require Either Username or Email Login
You can then enforce logging in by username only or by email only. By default, your visitors may login using either their username or email address.
Now, you can add our Stop Spammers protected, themable login form to any page, post, or text widget by adding the following shortcode:
Login, Logout and Register Menu Links
In addition to securing your login, we have created convenient menu links that can be placed on any of your website’s menus. These options are found in the native Appearance > Menus page in your WordPress admin. You can add a link to allow your visitors the ability to login, log out, register. The fourth option conditionally shows login or log out depending on whether the visitor accessing your website has signed in to their account.
