Stop Spammers is reaching nearly 1.3 million downloads, and we are grateful for everyone who has entrusted our plugin with their sites’ security. We’re a team of three very dedicated people, who are incredibly passionate about our work on this plugin. But we all have our day jobs, and 60,000 active installs means Stop Spammers is leveraged by thousands of different people and wide array of website configurations. Simply put, the three of us can’t address every use case.
That brings us to a significant inflection point. To keep this plugin strong, we’re reaching out to you with two different asks. If you believe you can fulfill one or the other (or even both), please reach out to us here. We’ll have more information for you about our plans and how you fit in them.
Translation Assistance
Stop Spammers 2021 has undergone a significant re-write. A big reason for this effort was to pave the way for the plugin to be translated in different languages. We know that, given the thousands of users, there are a variety of languages spoken within our community. Now that our plugin supports translations, we’re ready to ask our great community for help. If you would like to contribute by translating the plugin in another language, let us know.
Early Adopter Testing
We saw the problem of scale rear its ugly head with the feedback we’ve received regarding compatibility issues with WooCommerce and again with version 2021.2 when the update caused login problems and some of the checks not to activate. If you like being at the forefront of testing efforts and are meticulous (Stop Spammers has over 50 settings), we would love to speak to you. We have our testing environments, but they cover a tiny fraction of the possible WordPress configurations out there. With your help, we can widen the net we cast in our testing efforts.
This plugin works because of the dedicated people who use it and provide feedback. Regardless of whether or not you may be able to join us in the efforts above, we thank you for your part in bringing Stop Spammers to where it is today. We couldn’t do this without you.
